Principal's Message

Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year at Galena High School!

It is my privilege to welcome our students, families, staff, and community members to another exciting year as a Galena Bear. Whether you are returning to our school family or joining us for the first time, we are grateful to have you as part of our learning community.

At Galena High School, our mission is clear:

100% of our students will be inspired and empowered to discover their personal passions and be prepared to pursue those passions after graduation through Education, Employment, or Enlistment.

Everything we do is centered on helping students identify their strengths, develop their talents, and build the knowledge, skills, and character necessary for success beyond high school. We believe every student has unique gifts and potential, and we are committed to providing opportunities that prepare them for whatever path they choose.

Our theme for the 2026-2027 school year is "Building Thinking Classrooms: Engaging EVERY Student. EVERY Day."

Throughout this year, we will focus on building a strong foundation for learning, building meaningful relationships, building leadership and character, and building pathways to future success. We will continue building a culture where students are challenged academically, supported personally, and encouraged to become engaged members of our school and community.

We know that student success is strongest when schools, families, and communities work together. We value the partnership we share with our parents and community members and invite you to remain actively involved in the many opportunities and experiences that make Galena High School a special place.

Junior high and high school years are filled with opportunities to learn, grow, compete, serve, and create lasting memories. I encourage every student to get involved, explore new interests, and take advantage of the many academic, extracurricular, and leadership opportunities available.

As we begin this new school year, I am excited about what we will accomplish together. Thank you for your continued support of Galena High School. We look forward to a year of growth, achievement, and building a brighter future for every student.
