In the words of Mrs. Purkey, “This week’s artist we are honoring is Leif Latorre. He always works hard in class, and thinks outside of the box to reach creative solutions in his art work! We are very happy to showcase his artistic abilities this week! One of his best projects is a painting styled after The Scream of Nature, by Edvard Munch. The assignment was to make it recognizable as the iconic picture, but to change the character that draws your attention into the work itself. It is an Expressionism art form, and Leif handled this project well. Great job Leif!” 

     The Artist Weekly Spotlight will surely encourage students to explore their creativity in hopes of showcasing their art. It's also an excellent way to acknowledge the hard work and unique skills in each student.
