Galena High School Artist Weekly Spotlight - Lucas Ellis

Posted Date: 1/09/25 (3:09 PM)

Mrs. Purkey has introduced the Galena High School Artist Spotlight for this week! As a reminder, a new student will be chosen by random for an opportunity to showcase their art each week. The student will be selected by getting their name drawn if they decide they would like a chance to be selected for the Artist Spotlight.

This week’s Galena High School is honoring Lucas Ellis. He always works hard in class, and shows creative ideas in all his projects. One of his best projects is a painting of a snowglobe displaying Claude Monet’s Impressionist painting technique. The assignment was to display a natural landscape within the boundaries of a snowglobe, and Lucas handled the assignment with patience and diligence.

If you would like a chance to be chosen for the Artist Spotlight, you can ask Mrs. Purkey to enter your name in the drawing. As Artist Spotlight continues, there will be more artwork to showcase! Artist Spotlight has and will continue to encourage the art students to showcase their hard work, and expand their creativity. Galena High School will look forward to what other amazing artwork will be featured in the following weeks to come!
