Levi Keltner, a sophomore at Galena High School, has been a member of the Springfield NCR-070 Civil Air Patrol Squadron for two years. During those two years, Levi has obtained all nine enlisted ranks. Each rank requires hard work and dedication to move on and pass to the next rank. Most recently, Levi achieved the rank of second lieutenant, which is accompanied by the prestigious General Billy Mitchel Award. Only 15% of Civil Air Patrol cadets nationwide earn this distinction.
Levi's achievements were celebrated at Missouri State University's annual awards banquet on April 6th, where he received recognition for his contributions. His promotion and the prestigious Air Force Sergeants Association Certificate of Recognition highlight his leadership qualities and the respect he has earned from his peers.
The award reflects Levi's dedication to his duties and his commitment. Such recognition not only honors his past efforts but also sets a standard for future accomplishments within the Air Force community. Levi's peers selected him for this honor, emphasizing the impact he has made on those around him.
We asked Levi what the hardest part about getting his Air Force award was and he said, “Online testing and drill tests were challenging.” We also asked him what the most fun thing he did while getting his Air Force award, and he replied with,”I got to be a flight sergeant at an event.”
This recognition at the banquet serves as a reminder of the importance of leadership and teamwork in achieving success. Levi's story is an inspiration to many, illustrating how hard work and dedication can lead to meaningful acknowledgment and advancement in one's career.
